National Fruitcake Toss Day is celebrated the first Sunday of January. That means this year it is today, January 3.
What is this day about? Getting rid of fruitcakes that have accumulated during the holiday season. You could be irresponsible and throw them in the trash, if you like, but The Great Fruitcake Recycling Project has a much better idea: send them to us for recycling. That way, you will be honoring the tradition of getting rid of your fruitcakes, and show your concern for the environment by recycling. You’ll look like a hero.
Send your securely wrapped fruitcakes to:

2608 W Kenosha St.
#495
Broken Arrow, OK 74012
Make sure to include your return address with your fruitcake so we can send your “Fruitcake Contributor” button.
Of course, if you really want to celebrate the day, you can save them until Saturday to use them at the Manitou Springs Great Fruitcake Toss, and then send them to us after you participate. We’re okay with that, too. As long as they don’t end up causing irreparable environmental damage in the landfill, everyone wins.
No way would I want to go to a fruitcake toss. I’d be afraid one would hit me!
